Sunday School
Sunday School meets every Sunday morning following the worship service and announcement time at 10:45 and ends at 11:30, with a warning bell at 11:25.
Much of the life and learning of the church takes place during Sunday School, perhaps a throwback to our days on a 5-church circuit where there was only preaching once a month. Most of the activities and fundraisers of the church originate in one of the Sunday School rooms. There are classes for all ages from newborn to the most senior. At least once a year, regular Sunday School is suspended for the youth classes as they have a Rotation Sunday School for at least a month where they go to special activities, workshops, and storytelling on a special subject. This year's Rotation Sunday School will take place during December as an study of sheep and shepherds.
The Sunday School Classes available each week include:
the Bible Class, taught by Doug Cogburn, meets in the sanctuary, and is currently studying the the book of Genesis.
The Nursery, if needed, led by Jessica Hope and Chris Johnson
The Preschool, taught by Judy Malone and Renda Davenport, are looking at Old Testament figures.
The Elementary Class, taught by Debbie Cogburn and Mary Alice Jones, are looking at Old Testament figures
The Junior High Class, taught by Linda Duggar and Daniece McAmis
The Teen Class, taught by Dr. Cindy Kricko and Frances Johnson.
The New Connections Class (college age and young married), studies a variety of topics and subjects and is usually led by Mark Proffitt. They are presently looking at a study of Difficult Bible Passages
